Some background

Tieton Arts & Humanities began in 2007 at the initiative of Michael Schein. LitFUSE: A Poets’ Workshop brought poets from around the state – and some from around the country – for three days each fall.

Art in the Park was the next initiative and focused on arts and crafts experiences for local children during the summertime vacation. It has grown into creARTe, a successful initiative offered all year long in partnership with the Highland School District and Tieton Arts & Humanities. For more information

The Student Art Show continues every spring with an exhibition in the Mighty Tieton Warehouse. For more information

TA&H’s most popular annual event is the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration on the last Sunday in October from noon to 5:00. Free to the public, it features music, dance, art, food, vendors, poetry, and a community altar to honor loved ones who have passed. For more information

In its two-decade history it has taken on a variety of programs, including 10 × 10 × 10 x Tieton, a juried exhibition of small works from around the world. For 15 years, it was a popular exhibition and fundraiser for TA&H.
